Welcome to beautiful Son Serralta – one of the most remarkable properties in Spain and in Europe.

Being carefully restored, reformed and perfectly maintained to an immaculate condition, – Son Serralta is now ready to make a new step in its history and to meet its new owner, who will without a doubt appreciate its authentic beauty and majesty.

History

The estate of Son Serralta has it´s roots deep in Mallorcan history, the site having elements still in existence from over 3,000 years ago. Dating from the middle ages, around 900ad to 1229ad, as part of the Moorish occupation of the islands (who created the basis of what later became, after the Reconquista a «Posessió», an authentic Mallorcan estate/possession) various constructions still exist today and this can be considered the first existence of the current estate as it stands today.

Throughout the ages, this historically important estate has been owned by the Count of Montenegro amongst other important and influential families of the islands and continental Europe.

After the extensive renovation and restoration finished in 2004 by the family who currently owns it, Son Serralta received a new life that allows it to shine again, even brighter than at any other moment in its long history.

Culture, industry and nature

Estate Son Serralta forms an important cultural centre-point for the area of Puigpunyent. Historically Son Serralta has been a centre of production for charcoal, quicklime, olives, olive oil and associated agricultural materials. The estate also provides rich wildlife resources including game, game birds and goats amongst others. The estate benefits from hunting licences and rights, allowing the current owners to hunt various types of local wildlife throughout the year.

Architecture

The careful reconstruction done during last years was carried out by the local architectural minds with a special attention to the Mallorcan tradition. The preserved square shape in the plan, internal patio, the galleries, the use of internal spaces and rooms – come from there. A magnificent work that created comfort without altering the traditional.

Worthy of special mention, a spectacular loggia that adorns the principal southern facade of Son Serralta with access from several rooms of the main floor. Without any doubt it isthe most impressive and stunning feature of the house. Its lines and space are extremely appealing, and the views from here absolutely spectacular. You can easily lose the sense of time and spend hours just sitting in it and watching over the lands of Son Serralta – it´s own valley and mountain in perfect perspective.
